I cannot believe Franklin is turning 6 this week!
We celebrated with an early birthday party yesterday and it was wonderful. In light of his recent struggle at parties, we kept it to a very small number, with just a few very close friends. He is blessed to have such a caring and considerate circle of friends around him.
It was a huge success and the perfect setting. We arrived early to give him time and space to settle before his friends arrived. Once we entered the sensory playroom he was in his element! The lighting effects and ball pools were calming and he got his thrill seeking by sliding down the slide at least 150 times!
To ensure it doesn’t become too overwhelming for him, we will now spread out the gift opening over the course of the week. Franklin might not understand what a birthday is or is even aware that it is his birthday. He does though love to be around his friends and anyone who knows him knows he loves nothing more than giggling and having fun. Seeing his face light up yesterday is exactly why we continue to celebrate it this way 🎉
